Join us on May 1, 2020, in honoring ABA’s Law Day 2020 with “Steeped in History,” a celebration of the centennial anniversary of women’s right to vote. Tea played a significant role in women’s efforts to secure the right to vote. Under the guise of gathering for an innocent-sounding “tea,” women organized, raised funds and furthered America’s suffrage movement. The women’s suffrage movement, expanding representative democracy and inspiring other popular movements for constitutional change and reform, has had a lasting impact on America. Attendees will enjoy various teas while being steeped in the rich history of the 19th Amendment’s passage and its ongoing impact on our nation.
